The global picnic for degrowth idea was accepted at the second conference on degrowth and social justice in Barcelona in March 2010 in order to create or strengthen degrowth groups at the local level.

On Sunday 6th of June, local degrowth groups in 70 cities (20 countries) gathered for the very first edition of the Global PicNic 4 Degrowth! This is a huge success and some key contacts for an international network of local degrowth groups. Information about international actions and projects will be communicated. Together we can make the difference... slowly but surely :)

How to create a picnic in your town?

Check the map. If there is no picnic in your city, please create one with the button underneath the map and become the coordinator (the person pushing for it to happen on the ground and not just on the internet :). If there is already a picnic, just join and get in touch with the coordinator.

Concept?

Everyone brings a dish to share with their neighbors, a plate, fork and enjoy! Knowing our neighbors is the first step forward degrowth at local level.

Logistic?

Very little. Everybody will bring something...
